Dr. Karns’ interest in culture and language lead him to attend a year abroad at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan. He was awarded the JASSO Japanese National Scholarship for his studies there. During his study abroad, he also met his future wife, Erina. Over the years of studying Japanese and using conversational Japanese with his wife, Dr. Karns has become fluent.
Throughout his training, Dr. Karns made every effort to best provide continuity of care for his patients. While becoming well-versed in hospital care, urgent care, nursing home care and clinic care, it was only natural that he sought a career in concierge medicine. Concierge practice is a way to help link and unify the otherwise difficult transitions when patients change care settings.
Being able to care for patients and learn about their unique and captivating life histories is the very reason Dr. Karns went into medicine. His patients are not just patients to him but a close-knit family, and he strives to provide top-notch care without compromise. It is a rewarding endeavor to help his patients achieve their health goals. Dr. Karns’ practice focuses on quality of life and optimal longevity. His goal is to help patients continue doing what they love and enjoy in the present while mitigating current health problems and being proactive about preventing future illnesses. The result of this effort is that his patients are able to experience life to its fullest potential.
